Colnago Warranty Procedure

Your Colnago frame is hand crafted and engineered in Cambiago, Italy. The production process involved to build your Colnago frame is a long and laboured process, taking several weeks. Colnago sources all its high grade Carbon fibre from Italy and shapes and forms the tubes in their Italian factory, the tubes are then glued and prepared for painting, before they are airbrushed to exacting standards. The hand made process means that no two Colnago frames are exactly the same - they take on their own characteristics.

Colnago’s dedication to quality control is second to none. In the unfortunate case of a warranty claim we at FRF Sports have outlined the warranty process to enable you to understand the steps that are taken to fix your problem. All Colnago frames are covered by a two year limited warranty which can be viewed on our website.

  1. Please contact FRF Sports or your retailer and inform us of the problem you are having. FRF Sports will send a Warranty Service Form to be filled in and returned.
  2. Along with this form, photos of the complete bike, the problem with the frame, a proof of purchase and a photo of the serial number will need to be sent via email to FRF.
  3. These details will be appraised and then sent to Colnago for further opinion.
  4. A decision on warranty can generally be made at this point, within a couple of days.
  5. You need to organize to have the frame sent to FRF Sports for further inspection.

If your problem is considered a warranty claim, in most cases the frame will be sent back to Italy to be repaired. When Colnago receive the frame they repair the problem, repaint the area and test the frame as if it were brand new. This process does take some time, sometimes up to 12 weeks depending on what needs to be repaired. We understand that this is a long time for you to be without your bike so we provide a loan frame for you to ride during this process.

FRF Sports also provide a rebuild service. You can send us your complete bike, we will strip it and rebuild it with our loan frame which we will then send back to you to ride during the duration of repair. Once your frame is back in Australia we will rebuild your bike and send it back to you. Alternatively you can have your retailer send the frame only back to us.

During this period we will endeavour to keep you fully informed of the status of your frame.

If you have any questions or queries about this process please do not hesitate to contact us.
